Many people think that sugar is only bad when it’s in a can. However, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Sugar is added to just about everything these days and with good reason. It’s addictive, it makes food taste better and it gives you a rush of energy. The problem? Most of us don’t know how much sugar we’re consuming because it’s not always listed on the nutrition label. When you find out what some of your favorite foods are hiding, they might not look so appetizing anymore. Here are 11 unhealthy foods that you should avoid -Canned Tomatoes: They are great for a quick pasta sauce, but canned tomatoes have more sugar than fresh ones. One serving size has two tablespoons of sugar while one serving size of fresh tomatoes has only one tablespoon.
Cereal: Cereal is great for breakfast and even includes vitamins and minerals to start off the day healthy but most cereals also contain high levels of refined sugars that can really pack on pounds. Look for cereal with less than six grams of sugar per serving or try making your own oatmeal instead! Hot Dogs: Hot dogs may seem innocent enough but they’re loaded with sodium nitrates which has been linked to cancer.
