The winner in the men’s category was Victor Kipchirchir, who closed his run in 2h 07m 03s, a personal record in the 42k. In second place came Edwin Kiptoo, in 2h 09m 32s and the podium was completed by the Kenyan Victor Kiplimo (2h 11m 34s). The fourth place had a Latin American presence with the Chilean Hugo Catrileo (2h 13m 44s).
The first argentinian Crossing the finish line was José Sánchez (2h 16m 50s), who came in sixth place. Martín Mendez (2h 17m 17s) and Miguel Masa (2h 17m 30s) completed the national podium.
In women, the winner was also Kenyan. Rodah Tanui completed the 42k in 2h 26m 50s, followed by the Ethiopian Kasu Lemeneh (2h 27m 57s) and another Kenyan, Sharon Cherpov (2h 28m 53s).
The first Argentine to cross the finish line was Xoana Zurita, who was 5th in the general table with a time of 2h 46m 44s
Andrés Biga Vidal, who is also a member of the Argentine adapted cycling team, was the winner in the men’s adapted category, with a time of 1h 11m 36s. In women, the test was for the Argentine Lucía Montenegro, who completed in 2h 17m 00s.

The route, in a circuit that presented modifications with respect to previous editions, was from Belgrano and Palermo to La Boca, passing through the center of the City and emblematic scenarios such as 9 de Julio Avenue, the Plaza de Mayo, the Cabildo, the Usina del Arte, the Illia Puerto Madero highway and the Palermo Woods.
The changes to the route were made taking into account the technical specifications and regulations of World Athletics for street events with the category of “Label Race”certification with which the International Marathon of the City of Buenos Aires.
Although in its first sections (approximately up to kilometer 12) it was similar to the one that had been used previously, it was modified after entering the downtown area, due to the works in progress, especially on Paseo Colón avenue, where it is being built the extension of the Metrobus del Bajo.

As for the 8,578 runners, 6,320 of those registered were men and 2,258 women. Regarding nationalities, 7,038 Argentines and 1,560 foreigners run. Of these, those from Brazil are 860, from Uruguay 200 and from Chile 182.
Disputed for the first time in 1984, this is the 37th edition. The record, both for men and women, was achieved in 2019. Its authors were the Kenyans Evans Chebet, with 2h05m00sY Rodah Jepkorir Tanui, with a mark of 2h25m46s.

Among the amateur stories in this edition is the Stella Maris Del Papa, that at 70 years runs his 80th marathon through the streets of the City. Stella started running 40 years ago and never stopped. And in 2017, also on the streets of Buenos Aires, she did the 42 kilometers and 195 meters for the 70th time.

At the end of the race and during the award ceremony, tributes will be paid to Juan Carlos Zavalaon the 90th anniversary of the victory in the Los Angeles Olympic Marathon. In addition, it is the 70th anniversary of Reinaldo Gorno’s silver medal in Helsinki. The Ñandú Association will deliver platelets to their children.
